- The *Board of Overseers* is one of Harvard’s two governing boards, along with the Corporation. Formally established in 1642, the Board of Overseers plays an integral role in the governance of the University. - The *HAA Board of Directors* is an advisory board that empowers volunteers to strengthen the Harvard alumni community and guides the fostering of alumni community building. The work of the Board focuses on creating University citizens of alumni and alumni volunteers, developing volunteer leadership, and increasing and deepening alumni engagement through an array of programs and communications that support alumni communities worldwide.
