Yiming, transitioning from high school to college can be daunting, but it doesn’t have to be.
Harvard relieves any anxieties you may feel by providing you with a broad network of support services beginning before day one. You’ll have someone by your side to guide you through everything: academic course selection, residential life, extracurricular activities, health and wellness, and any concerns or questions you have about living and learning at Harvard.
 | | Supportive Advisors
One of your first major decisions will be course selection. Whether you are a first-year or upper-level student, you will be assigned a dedicated advising team to help guide you through your academic journey.
|
 | | Your First Year As a first-year, you’ll have an advisor (faculty, staff member, or graduate student), a peer advising fellow (an upper-level student specially trained to provide assistance), and access to residence-based advising in your residence community.
With Harvard’s 7:1 student-to-faculty ratio, you will also be able to easily connect with professors in class or during drop-in hours. You can also take advantage of the Academic Resource Center, which offers tutoring, academic workshops, and advising.
